Also the defending champions Eydallin and Antonioli at the start
The start list of the Adamello Ski Raid has taken shape, scheduled for Saturday 5 April for its ninth edition, valid for the international circuit La Grande Course. Bib number 1 will be worn by the defending champions, the pair formed by Matteo Eydallin from Salice D’Ulzio in Piedmont and Robert Antonioli from Valfurva in Valtellina, but the fight for victory is far from certain given the level of the opponents. Above all, the French William Bon Mardion and Xavier Gachet, fresh from their success in the Pierra Menta, then the Italian pair formed by William Boffelli from Roncobello in Bergamo and Alex Oberbacher from Gardena, and again the “civilian” duo with Nadir Maguet from the Aosta Valley and Federico Nicolini from Molveno in Trentino. The local athlete Davide Magnini does not appear among the registered, as his teammate withdrew at the last minute.
As for the women's race, the couple formed by Giulia Compagnoni from Valtellina (Cs Esercito) and Lisa Moreschini from Pejo (Gs Fiamme Gialle) is interesting, as is the French duo composed of Lorna Bonnel and Perrine Gindre. Among the over 300 registered, representing 16 nations, a mixed category is also planned.
The organizers of the Adamello Ski Team are working hard at altitude these days to ensure the tracking and safety of the athletes along the route, which will be almost identical to that of the last edition for a total of 39 km and 3,115 meters of positive difference in altitude and 3,455 in negative. The queen of the race will be Cima Venerocolo, from which you can admire the suggestive north face of Adamello, then the other significant passages at Cresta Croce near the cannon of the Great War and with the difficulties, but at the same time the spectacularity, of the passage on the ridge, which this year will also be equipped safely with a rope. In addition, the athletes will tackle the Tre Denti pass, the Pisgnanino glacier and the final descent towards the center of Ponte di Legno. The only new feature about halfway along the route is the return of the suggestive Ski Raid canal, which however will be traveled uphill. The other new feature of the 2025 edition concerns the debut of the Adamello Ski Raid Experience. This is a different format dedicated to enthusiasts, hikers and amateurs who do not like to deal with the stopwatch, but who, at the same time, do not want to give up treating themselves to a day in the mountains in safety, in the setting of one of the top events of ski mountaineering. The Experience event route will be approximately 16 kilometers long, will have an elevation gain of around 600 meters (2,400 meters downhill) and will involve overcoming mountaineering difficulties.
For information on registration, see the dedicated page on this site. The start will be at Passo Presena from 8:30 to 8:45, after passing the Artva check.
The program includes athlete accreditation from 10 to 17 on Friday, April 4, then at 18 the technical briefing at the Palazzo dello Sport in Ponte di Legno. On Saturday, April 5, the opening of the starting grids in Tonalina is scheduled for 5 in the morning, then at 6 am the start of the men's and women's race, again from Tonalina. For the public who want to follow the passages at high altitude, the ski lift company has decided to open the cable car from Passo del Tonale to Passo Presena with free access from 5:30 to 6:30. The arrival of the first teams is expected around 10:30, then the awards ceremony at the Palazzo dello Sport in Ponte di Legno at 16:00.
A live update of the progress of the race is expected on the social profiles of Adamello Ski Raid (Facebook and Instagram).
